A roofing company working on a Richmond site has been fined more than $2,000 for failing to ensure the protection of its employees from falls.

WorkSafeBC inspectors found two workers with Hardworking Roofing Service Ltd. near the edge of the sloped roof of a new home without fall protection.

This exposed workers to a fall risk of about 4.6 metres from the roof, according to WorkSafeBC.

The firm was issued a fine of $2,558.35 on Nov. 5 for failing to have fall protection in place and for having a repeated and high-risk violation.
