Fireworks conclude Canada Day
Canada Day in Steveston will conclude at 10:15 p.m. on the Village’s waterfront with a special fireworks display.
A fireworks barge will be situated off of Shady Island, near the heart of the Village, making for good viewing between Garry Point Park and Britannia Shipyards. The largest crowds tend to congregate along the Imperial Landing boardwalk.
The last Big Sugar song on the main stage on Bayview Street, at about 10 p.m., precedes the fireworks show.
The fireworks, presented by Dueck GM, will be set to a custom mix of classic Canadian songs aired over big speakers on along the boardwalk and on Bayview Street.
Everyone is encouraged to grab a lawn chair for optimal viewing.
The fireworks are put on by the City of Richmond as part of Richmond Canada Day festivities. Earlier in the day will be most of the Steevston Salmon Festival activities, which conclude at 8 p.m. with the last song on the main stage at Easthope Avenue and Moncton Street.
