Satvir Sanghera pleaded guilty to four sex-related crimes.

A Richmond man will be sentenced this summer for sex-related crimes dating back almost a decade ago, after an initial delay.

Satvir Sanghera is scheduled to return to Richmond Provincial Court on July 11 and 12 for a two-day sentencing hearing.

He originally faced 17 charges including sexual assault and possession of child pornography, but pleaded guilty in December 2022 to two counts of sexual assault and two counts of obtaining or communicating for sexual services

The two counts of sexual assault were from December 2015 and April 2019, and his charges for obtaining or communicating for sexual services happened in April 2016 and June 2019.

Sanghera's sentencing hearing was originally scheduled for last November, but it was pushed back after he was hospitalized for serious medical issues.

This was not the first time delays have happened in Sanghera's case, as he was originally set to go to trial but was delayed twice.

Richmond RCMP released Sanghera's photo to the public in 2020 after they began probing his case in 2018. The incidents allegedly took place in Richmond, Vancouver and Coquitlam.
