A new arcade-style store filled with claw machines has soft-opened in a Richmond plaza.
Binggo Purple has moved into the former Pacific Insurance space next to Cocobay at Union Square Shopping Centre.
Claw machines have been around for years, but the trend appears to be making a comeback, with some Richmond game and toy stores now featuring one or two machines.
But, at Binggo Purple, there are about 25 claw machines, lit with neon yellow lights and filled with stuffed toys such as Pokémon and Sanrio characters, as well as bags of chips and snacks for people of all ages to enjoy.
Customers are required to pre-purchase tokens to use at the machines.
The claw machine store is part of the same group as Binggo Yellow, which sells popular blind boxes, and Binggo Blue, which sells bubble tea and desserts, both also located in Union Square.
Binggo Purple is located at 8300 Capstan Way near Hazelbridge Way.
