According to an alert by Environment Canada, the snowfall warning for Richmond and Metro Vancouver has ended.

However, an arctic outflow warning has just been issued for the region, warning of bitterly cold temperatures and strong winds in the next few days.

Wind chill values of -25C to -20C are expected in Metro Vancouver from Today through Thursday. People are advised to provide shelter for pets and outdoor animals and be prepared for "unusually cold temperatures and strong winds.

The Richmond House Emergency Shelter at 10100 South Arm Place is open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. every day until Dec. 26

Residents will also be dealing with the impact of thick blankets of snow for the rest of the day, such as rough traffic conditions and massive flight cancellations and delays.

The Canada Line, however, seems to be slowly getting back to normal.

Snow is in the forecast for Friday and Saturday.
