Environment Canada is predicting some wet flurries today and tomorrow in Richmond

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the next couple of days in the Lower Mainland, including Richmond.

It’s forecasting some wet flurries during Monday through to Tuesday morning, with more expected on higher elevations.

Some parts of the region woke up Sunday morning to the white stuff, with parts of Coquitlam and Maple Ridge getting between one and three inches.

Environment Canada is forecasting two to 10 cm of snow accumulation over the next 24 hours.

“A cold and unstable air mass over the coast may bring some wintery conditions to the Lower Mainland,” read the statement.

“Showery weather with snow levels hovering around 300 metres is forecast tonight. As a result, higher elevations, and the Fraser Valley could see higher accumulations of snow tonight to Tuesday morning.”

More wet flurries are expected in Richmond and the surrounding region later in the week.
