What is it with Tuesdays this winter?
It’s not predicted to cause anything like last Tuesday’s chaos, when motorists crawled home for up to 12 hours as the region went into gridlock.
But a special weather statement has been issued once more for Richmond and the Lower Mainland for tomorrow.
According to Environment Canada (EC), we are set for a few centimetres of snow or wet snow, followed by freezing rain in the morning.
EC is forecasting that the temperatures will rise by the afternoon, turning whatever precipitation there is to rain.
“The recent cold weather has primed the south coast for low elevation snowfall. A low pressure system will spin up over Vancouver Island producing periods of light snow and a risk of freezing drizzle beginning early Tuesday morning,” said EC in its statement Monday morning.
The forecast calls for rain and cloud at YVR until Friday evening, when the temperatures dip to freezing once more, increasing the chance of wet snow.
