Richmond RCMP say they found Tesla chargers and tools when executing a search warrant.

A cache of alleged stolen goods were found at a home after a Richmond RCMP investigation into a stolen Tesla cable.

RCMP responded to a report of a theft of a Tesla cable from an open carport on No. 3 Road south of Williams Road.

After identifying a suspect, they executed a search warrant at a home in the 9400-block of Greenfield Drive, near Garden City and Francis roads. RCMP allege they found four Tesla chargers, packages addressed to other homes and a large cache of tools.

Cpl. Ryan Lee with the Richmond RCMP property crime unit said police “highly recommend” keeping up-to-date records of serial numbers.

“Having a serial number allows police to easily identify and return recovered stolen goods to their rightful owner,” Lee said.

“For items without serial numbers, we recommend adding identifiable marks and contact information so police can readily determine who owns the item.”

The suspect in this investigation was arrested and released on a police undertaking.
