In addition to having some of the best birding spots in Metro Vancouver, Richmond is also home to beautiful architecture and all things nature.
It's difficult to narrow down our choices, but here are some of the top Good Morning, Richmond (GMR) photos submitted by Richmond News readers in no particular order:
1. Squirrel reaching for a snack at Richmond Nature Park — Anabelle Wee
In this photo, GMR regular Anabelle Wee captured a comical moment of a black squirrel working hard for a delicious snack at Richmond Nature Park.
2. Jets flying over London Landing at dawn — Geoff McDonnell
GMR regular Geoff McDonell managed to act fast and snap a photo of this rare sight over Richmond's skies. He credited his photo to being in the right place at the right time.
3. A golden-crowned sparrow among cherry blossoms at Garry Point Park — Johnny Choi
Garry Point Park is a must-visit spot for cherry blossom season, and this golden-crowned sparrow in GMR regular Johnny Choi's photo seemed to agree.
4. A fog bow over Iona Jetty — Angela Lo
Richmond community member Angela Lo managed to capture this beautiful scene at the Iona Jetty, which is also a popular spot for bird and plane watching.
5. A dog frolicking in the water at McDonald Beach — Grant McMillan
Richmond community member Grant McMillan, who you may recognize from his "Out and About" series with the Richmond News, captured this action-packed moment of a dog enjoying a fun day out at McDonald Beach.
6. A yellowlegs perched atop a sculpture at Britannia Heritage Shipyards — Caroline Sayson
GMR regular Caroline Sayson captured a serene moment of a yellowlegs perched atop a driftwood sculpture by local artist Glen Andersen at Britannia Heritage Shipyards.
7. Eagles perched in front of the moon at Woodward Slough — Richard Topping
Richard Topping, also a regular contributor to GMR, snapped a magical shot of two eagles framed by the moon at Woodward Slough.
8. Otters swimming along the West Dyke — Angie Lau
GMR regular Angie Lau spotted a group of adorable river otters swimming along the West Dyke, and one of them even posed for the photo.
9. Yawning barred owl in Terra Nova — Chee Yong
Like all night owls, this barred owl was spotted yawning during the day in Terra Nova by GMR regular Chee Yong.
10. Rainbow over Fisherman's Wharf — Brian Olsen
The sight of a rainbow is always welcome after a rainy day, and this photo by Richmond community member Brian Olsen captured a beautiful scene at Fisherman's Wharf. The Sockeye City Grill, captured in the photo, has since closed permanently after two decades.
