Three suspects were arrested for allegedly trying to break into a bike storage room.

Police are seeking more information for an alleged attempt to break into a bike storage room earlier this month.

Richmond RCMP announced Wednesday that police received a report of a possible break-and-enter in progress near Blundell and Gilbert roads in the 7700 block of Gilbert Road shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 17.

The complainant told officers three suspects were attempting to leave the parkade in a Kia Sorento, which was revealed by licence plate checks to have been reported stolen out of Vancouver, said Richmond RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Adriana O'Malley.

Police were also told the parkade's overhead door would not open and suspects were on foot after exiting the vehicle.

"The complainant provided detailed information on the location and descriptions from a safe location," said O'Malley.

The area was subsequently contained by Richmond RCMP frontline and bike unit officers and one suspect who exited the building on foot was found and arrested by the bike unit.

Frontline officers arrested the other two suspects, who were found inside the building.

Two suspects have since been released on police undertakings with conditions and the third is held in custody on an unrelated matter.

Charges are pending and the investigation is active and ongoing.

"We want to thank the complainant for the detailed information she provided in what could be a very stressful situation," said Staff Sgt. Paula Maan, noncommissioned officer in-charge of operations support.

"This is an excellent example of how if you see something say something can result in arrests."
