The Richmond COVID-19 testing site is relocating from Gilbert Road to the airport.
The new site will open on Saturday, Nov. 14, just next to the airport, and is intended to serve Richmond and South Vancouver residents.
Patients visiting the Richmond Assessment Centre (RAC) will not need a referral or appointment, and will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The new drive-through testing site is located at 5911 North Service Rd. in the jetSet parking lot (at the intersection of Aviation Avenue and North Service Road.)
The site will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and can accommodate anyone aged four and older. This site, however, doesn’t offer testing for travellers.
Walk-up clients can visit the COVID-19 testing collection centre located at Richmond Hospital.
The existing testing centre, located at 6820 Gilbert Rd. in the parking lot of the Richmond Tennis Club, will remain open until Nov. 11 at 7 p.m.
From Nov. 12 to 13, Richmond residents seeking testing can visit an alternate site that is most convenient for them.
All Vancouver Coastal Health (VC) testing sites and hours can be found at www.vch.ca/covidtesting.
COVID-19 testing is available for all who need it but not everyone requires a test. Testing is not recommended for people without symptoms. The BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool is available to help determine if you need further assessment for COVID-19 testing by a health care provider or at a local collection centre.
For all site locations and hours, refer to the collection site locator on the BC Centre for Disease Control website.
