When you gotta turn left, you gotta turn left, no matter the colour of the traffic light or your speed.
That seems to be the mantra of a driver making a rather “sharp” left-hand turn from Francis Road, onto No. 2 Road in Richmond last week.
Richmond resident Evgeni Nabokov caught the moment on his dashcam as he and his wife, Lana, headed south on No. 2 Road last Friday.
As the couple approached the intersection with Francis, they said the female driver came screaming around the corner in what appears to be a white Nissan Kicks.
The couple's light had already turned to green by the time the driver of the white vehicle made the turn, meaning she must have blown through a red on Francis.
Incredibly, the driver of the Nissan manages to keep her vehicle inside the lines as she rails around the corner and straightens out.
“In reality it looked more shocking than on the video,” Nabokov told the Richmond News, apologizing for a swear word in Russian in the video.
“Fortunately, the driver managed to keep her car on the line. We proceeded without consequences.”
He posted the video on the Richmond Reddit page, where one person lauded the driver’s recovery skills, noting how she kept the vehicle in her lane, while performing some “illegal stunt driving.”
Another commented, “I know this lady probably just got lucky but that was some tight driving. Obviously dangerous speeds but took the correct lane and never even touched the lines.”
While another Reddit user noticed that there are crash tubs in front of a house at that precise corner, likely for good reason.
