Masked young men in body armour and a replica firearm caused panic in Richmond's Walmart earlier this week.
The surrounding area, near Alderbridge Way at McClelland Road, was briefly in lockdown around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 after a resident spotted a masked individual, possibly armed, on their home surveillance feed.
RCMP officers quickly found the young men, all in their twenties, who were apparently "in character, filming a video." Masks, body armour, and a firearm replica were found on the men.
"No injuries were reported and the highly charged situation was diffused," said Cpl. Dennis Hwang, spokesperson for the Richmond RCMP.
"The three men, all from Richmond were educated very quickly about their risky actions."
