If the morning downpour and strong winds were not enough to kick off the week, a sinkhole at the intersection of Gilbert and Blundell roads has the area blocked off.
Sewage water has flooded the intersection, and city workers are working quickly to place sandbags along the northwest corner of the intersection.
Blundell Road is blocked off from Minler and Moffatt roads while Gilbert Road is blocked off between Donald and Lucas roads.
Metro Vancouver Liquid Waste Services has dispatched a crew to the intersection to "assess and manage the situation," according to Greg Valou, spokesperson for Metro Vancouver.
