If you needed convincing there was the dreaded black ice out there on Richmond’s roads this morning, a couple of videos might make your mind up.
A woman working nearby watched the “fun” unfold from her office behind Ironwood Plaza shopping mall - at Coppersmith Place, near Coppersmith Way – this morning.
She witnessed a white Range Rover sliding for about 50 yards before slamming into the back of a delivery truck.
She also recorded a larger delivery truck losing control on the exact same patch and somehow making it around the corner unscathed.
There are reports of large swathes of black ice all across Richmond this morning, including a patch on Highway 91 in east Richmond.
More snow and freezing rain is forecast for late tonight into Friday, before warmer temperatures and heavy rain comes in Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for Richmond and Metro Vancouver.
