Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for B.C.'s inner south coast.

Environment Canada is asking community members to watch out for damages caused by strong winds.

A "very strong" Pacific frontal system is crossing B.C.'s south coast tonight, according to a wind warning issued Friday afternoon.

Winds are expected to rise to southeast 70 gusting to 90 kilometres per hour this evening. The strongest winds will occur in areas along the Strait of Georgia and the mouth of Howe Sound.

Loose objects in the wind may cause injury or damage and power outages and fallen tree branches may happen due to strong winds.

Drivers are advised to adjust their driving to changing road conditions, and community members are asked to monitor Environment Canada alerts and forecasts.

Environment Canada expects winds to ease by Saturday morning and shift to moderate southwesterly.
