Travelling to Vancouver International Airport often poses a dilemma: is it better to park a car, transit, get a ride or take a cab? For those who prefer to have their vehicle waiting for them when they return from a trip, a new parking option is now available.

Last Thursday, the airport opened its new parking lot at the Templeton Canada Line station, Value Long Term. Those who park their car at the lot can take the four-minute ride along the Canada Line into the airport for free or use a shuttle bus service during off-hours. As this new lot opens, the airport’s Value Lot has closed while the a new six-level parkade and car rental facility is built.

“As YVR experiences record passenger growth, the new parking lot marks one of our ongoing multi-year expansion projects that will ensure we continue to deliver an exceptional airport experience,” said Scott Norris, vice president of commercial development for Vancouver Airport Authority in a press release. “While travellers become familiar with the new lot, we encourage them to leave extra time and have a parking plan in place before heading to the airport.”

Visitors can park at the Value Long Term lot for $15 per day, or $96 per week with a discount available for pre-bookings. Comparatively, JetSet parking is available for $17.50 per day or $112.50 per week while Gateway Valet is available for $43.75 daily, or $236.50 per week.

The lot has more than 2,000 stalls, family and accessible parking and EV charging stations. Visitors waiting for a shuttle bus during off-hours can waitin in a heated bus station, which offers GPS bus tracking and flight information.
