Richmond's MacNeill boys basketball team is playing in the quarter-finals of the provincial championships on Thursday.
The MacNeill Ravens is the only Richmond boys team competing in the AAA provincials and won against South Kamloops on Wednesday evening 70-58 at the Langley Events Centre.
The Ravens' guard Chad Gammad was named player of the game as he scored a total of 36 points including 18 in the third period in the game against South Kamloops.
Senior guard Joaquin Bautista also scored 20 points with 11 rebounds in the same game.
This is the team's fifth consecutive year competing in provincials.
MacNeill will play against top-ranking St. Patrick Regional secondary at the Langley Events Centre tonight at 8:45 p.m.
"(St. Patrick) is the first seed coming into the (provincials) and back-to-back provincial champs, so we are definitely going to have our hands full. But as always we'll be looking forward to the challenge and give it our best shot," said Steward Siy, basketball coach at MacNeill.
"We are excited to see where we end up this year, the win over South Kamloops guarantees us a top-eight placing," said Siy.
