Ian Ryder takes momentum to Argentina this weekend where he will be representing his country at the Pan American Cadet and Junior Judo Championships.
The 17-year-old Steveston Judo Club standout is coming off an impressive performance at the Canada Cup in Montreal last weekend where he won gold in the -90 kg. classification at the Cadet and Junior levels. He also gained valuable experience competing in the senior division.
Ryder is the lone member of the Canadian team to qualify for both the Cadet (U18) and Junior (U21) Divisions. He will be taking aim at gold after winning bronze a year ago.
