Two more athletes from a Richmond track and field club have secured their tickets to the Olympics in August.
Kajaks Track and Field Club athletes recently impressed at the Bell Track & Field Trials, a pre-qualifier for the upcoming Paris Olympics that doubled as the Canadian National Championships.
World champion Camryn Rogers, who made her Olympics debut in Tokyo in 2020, will be heading to Paris after winning gold with a 75.05-metre throw in senior women's hammer throw.
She will be joined by Rowan Hamilton, who came second with a 57.74 metre throw in senior men's hammer throw.
Also winning gold at the Bell trials was Elise Drake, who secured a gold medal in the U20 women's hammer throw with a 51.51 metre throw.
Deven Marrero, Lyle Lo and Aidan Turner came second in U20 men's hammer throw, U20 long jump and U20 pole vault respectively.
The Bell trials were held in Montreal, Que. from June 26 to 30. The 2024 Paris Olympics will run from July 26 to Aug. 11.
