Update: Richmond's Evan Dunfee falls to 20th spot in relay race walk

Dunfee won a bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in the 50-km race walking event.

Despite leading the race for the first few lengths of the mixed relay race walking, in the end, Richmond's Evan Dunfee and Nanaimo's Olivia Lundman dropped to 20th spot by the end of the event.

After finishing fifth last week in the 20-kilometre race, Dunfee was paired up with Lundman for the 42.195-kilometre mixed relay race.

The relay started with the men completing the first quarter of the walk, the women in the second and again alternating with Lundman completing the final stretch.

The mixed relay was won by the Spanish team with a time of 2:50:31. Ecuador was second at 2:51:22 and Australia came third at 2:51:38.

Dunfee's and Lundman's time was 3:04:57.

Dunfee won a bronze medal in the 50-kilometre race at the Tokyo Olympics.

Richmond's Camryn Rogers won a gold Tuesday in the hammer throw competition.
