The Connaught Skating Club showcased its up-and-coming talent at the 2019 Marlyn Grubb Junior Academy Invitational, held at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
The event was the debut competition for many of the club’s youngest skaters — ranging from five to seven years of age. The 32 participants also got the opportunity to meet Grubb — a provincial and national level coach — who was instrumental in creating the club’s strong foundation. She recently retired after nearly four decades of working with skaters.
The competition was named in her honour.
