With what seems to be the lion’s share of the vote counted in three of Richmond’s four ridings, projected winners appear to be Aman Singh (NDP) in Richmond-Queensborough, Kelly Greene (NDP) in Richmond-Steveston and Teresa Wat (BC Liberal) in Richmond North Centre.
But Richmond South Centre results are still unclear with no report on an estimated 3,550 mail-in and absentee ballot results announced yet by Elections BC.
The last update on this riding was on Friday afternoon.
There was no projected winner in Richmond South Centre on election night because the candidates were just 124 votes apart. The NDP candidate, Henry Yao, ended the night leading BC Liberal candidate Alexa Loo.
That margin, with about 1,700 absentee and mail-in votes counted as of Friday, narrowed to 118 votes.
Elections BC officials are currently counting mail-in and absentee ballots in the provincial election, which was held on Oct. 24.
In Richmond-Queensborough, Richmond-Steveston and Richmond North Centre, there were just a handful of ballots not reported by Elections BC, based on their estimates of the number that needed to be counted after election day on Oct. 24.
The NDP’s overall vote percentage has increased slightly from election night, now at 46.5 per cent, up from 45.1 per cent.
