Richmond RCMP officers are seeking the public’s help in identifying two arson suspects believed to be involved in a fire at a business complex late last year.
On Nov. 29, 2018, Mounties and Richmond Fire-Rescue responded to reports of a fire on Bridgeport Road, near No. 5 Road. After evidence suggested the fire was deliberate, a criminal investigation was launched.
“This fire deeply concerns us. The inherent safety risks to anyone in the surrounding vicinity of the blaze, to the emergency crews that responded to the incident, and the enormous monetary losses to property and business income,” said Cpl. Dennis Hwang in a press release.
“There is also the human factor – the toll to the community’s livelihood. Someone could have been in one of the adjacent business units and succumbed to the smoke. We would very much like to locate those responsible for this fire.”
Mounties say they’ve “exhausted all investigative avenues” and are now releasing images of the two suspects, hoping the public can help identify them. In the images taken from security cameras, the two individuals are seen wearing black hoodies, black baseball caps and dark pants. One individual appears to be carrying a large duffel bag.
