This is a month where I am sure everyone will appreciate some deals so below are my recommendations for wines that are on sale this month at B.C. Liquor Stores.
Piper Heidsieck Non Vintage Cuvee Brut – everyone can use some Champagne during the holiday season so you should take advantage whenever you can get a discount on champagne. Champagne is sparkling wine produced from the Champagne region in France and Piper Heidsieck is one of the most popular champagnes on the market. This month it is on sale from $64.99 to $57.99.
Cecchi 2016 Chianti Classico Storia Di Famiglia – 2016 was an excellent vintage for the Chianti region and wines from this vintage are disappearing quickly from the liquor stores as they move to new vintages. Chianti wines are made mostly from the Sangiovese grape variety and Chianti wines are typically fruity and have good acidity. Chiantis are exceptionally food-friendly wines that will give you dark plum, cherry and spice flavours and aromas. On sale this month from $19.99 to $16.99
Concha Y Toro 2018 Marques Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon – many people enjoy Chilean wines for their high value to quality ratio and easy drinkability. They are not pretentious wines…you can just open them and enjoy them right away without waiting. This wine is no exception. It will provide you with rich blackberry, cassis and oak flavours and aromas. Reduced this month from $24.99 to $21.99
Columbia Crest 2017 H3 Horse Heaven Hill Merlot – I have always loved the value this brand provides. It is produced by Columbia Crest winery out of Washington State and is one of the most powerful Merlots out there. It always provides a wonderful balance of fleshy fruit, mild tannins and a smooth, chocolate finish. On sale this month from $21.99 to $18.99
Jean Marc Brocard 2018 Chablis Premier Cru Montmains -for a special holiday white wine, try this delicious Chablis from the Burgundy region of France. Made with the Chardonnay grape, this wine is unoaked so the clean crispness of this wine will pair perfectly with white meat dishes. On sale this month from $56.99 to $52.99
Clos De L’Oratoire Des Papes 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape – for those looking for red wine for that special holiday meal, this wine should do the trick. Many people enjoy the robust, bold, full-throttle nature of Chateauneuf du Pape wines. Chateauneuf du Pape wines use a blend of many different grape varieties (mostly Grenache), which contributes to the complexity and multitude of flavours you will get from this wine. It will be a full-bodied wine with high in alcohol content, red fruit flavours and perhaps some gamey aromas. Reduced this month from $53.99 to $47.99
