I have read both Alan Campbell's and David Baines' articles on the donation of books by Kwok Chu Lee to the Richmond Library.
Are these books from Mr. Lee's private library, or were they purchased by him from different publishing companies at an average price of $25.55 each?
Apparently some are still in their original plastic wrappings so they have not been read by anyone.
Will these books be read by the Richmond Chinese? Who will pay for all the cataloging of these books? Where will they be placed in the library?
Apparently, Mr. Lee donated a substantial number of books more than a decade ago. Have these books been put into circulation and has there been sufficient readership to justify their shelf space?
These are questions that should be asked and answered.
