Dear Editor,
Reading your paper today, I was taken aback when I came across an ad in the Arts & Collectibles section.
“Polar Bear Rug $27,500
2015 harvested male bear, thick snow-white fur, all claws, massive head.
10-ft nose to tail, paw to paw. Highest Quality!”
Best of all, it comes with combat wounds on his nose!!!
“Harvested” like a piece of fruit picked from a tree or crop farmed? How callous and cold.
This is a majestic creature that we have no right to kill for such materialistic purpose!
I can’t think of anything more disgusting.
This beautiful animal, is now reduced to a show carpet for someone’s home, to stoke someone’s ego.
Hey friends, want to come over tonight, have a few drinks and check out my dead polar bear rug?
Truly sad.
