Dear Editor,

I was a victim of a house fire in Richmond on Feb. 17 on No. 2 Road. I lost most of my belongings and, unfortunately, do not have insurance. But I do have four cats and I want to thank those who helped me rescue them.

I just got back two of the cats that were staying at a shelter in Abbotsford. The shelter was  so accommodating. They gave the cats a medical check, and gave me a new scratching  post, cat treats, cat food, grooming wipes, two cat beds and $30 for gas to get my two boys back home.

Also, I would like to thank the Richmond Fire Department for saving my cats’ lives. They carried each one out.

Finally, I would like to thank my neighbour  Jennifer for investigating the cause of the smoke she smelled on that fateful day. May she and her family be blessed.

I would like to say how nice people living in Richmond are.
