Letters: Customers need to be more grateful

A Richmond News reader responds to a previous letter writer who was angry over having to pay 80 cents for a face mask when entering a store.

A previous letter writer was angry over having to pay 80 cents for a face mask when entering a store.

Dear Editor,

Re: “Stung by Richmond store’s mask demand,” Letters, Sept. 9.

A free mask was offered to him in Shoppers with a friendly notice when he forgot to bring one himself.

However, he blames the store for not giving out free masks to everyone.

It has been two years since COVID; wearing a mask in public should be common sense.

Yes, community stores should support the community, but giving out free masks is not a way to make our community better.

Let’s be more grateful to those front line workers and essential stores, rather than demean them with small matters. They have always been there for us when most stores were closed during the pandemic.
