Letters: Don't relocate bus loop to Steveston community centre

A Richmond News reader disagrees with previous letter writer about Steveston bus loop.

A letter writer doesn't have a problem with buses on Chatham Street.

Dear Editor,

Re: "Letters: Transit hub could be built with new Steveston community centre"

The current bus loop in Steveston is working just fine. As a senior, I use it every day.

Relocating it to the new community centre is not a good idea. The community centre is a very active place for children, and a bus loop would pose a danger.

Also, the community centre is a very active area for user parking and would create a conflict between bus traffic and private vehicle traffic.

A bus loop located along the south side of Chatham where a large parking lot currently exists would be more practical.

The paid parking does not generate significant revenue as the lot is generally empty except for special occasions such as the cherry blossom event.
