Letters: Richmond speeder going 169/km should have licence suspended

Letter writer thinks speeder showed 'complete disregard' for the rules.

A driver was caught in east Richmond going 169 km/h and had their car impounded for a week.

Dear Editor,

Re: Update: 27-year-old 'N' driver caught speeding at 169 km/h in Richmond

This driver has shown a complete disrespect for the rules of the road. He will likely re-offend.

Why can’t his driver's licence be suspended for six months to one year for such reckless behaviour?

Should he continue and get a second speeding or other "moving" event, as opposed to a parking ticket, then his N-status should be be terminated along with any privileges to drive.
