Letters: Should we have motorcycle paramedics like in New Zealand

A Richmond News reader has some suggestions on how paramedics could respond in B.C.
Ambulance
There are motorcycle paramedics in New Zealand, a letter writer notes.

Dear Editor,

Re: "What happens when you call for an ambulance in B.C.?"

I read your article on ambulances. In New Zealand, the first paramedic arrives by motorcycle to assess the situation and stabilize the patient if required.

The paramedic can call off the ambulance if it’s not required.

As soon as the ambulance arrives, the motorcycle paramedic can move to the next call.

This sounds more efficient and effective than our system! Not sure who in government would be interested in this!
