Dear Editor,
Re: "Steveston bike path could be extended to No. 5 Road"
Regarding the under-construction Steveston Highway bike path, my wife and I travel every Monday to the Delta Casino along this route. We have been doing this during the course of construction for this project.
I note the following:
1. This bike path goes from nowhere to nowhere.
2. It cost taxpayers $17 million.
3. In our weekly drive, we have never seen one bike user on this path and that is under generally good weather conditions in the daytime.
4. It appears this bike path is completely underused.
5. Who authorized public funds to be utilized for this boondoggle project?
6. The people that live in this area do not own or ride bikes.
7. This is an example of woke culture, spending taxpayer money on totally useless projects that benefit no one.
8. Richmond council should be ashamed of this waste of $17 million to create a bike path that no one uses and has no value to the transportation infrastructure.
