Dear Editor,

Re: “Wat delivers speech on China Central TV.”  Jan. 3

I want to ask the Richmond MLA Teresa Wat whether you are using your own money to travel to be featured on China Central TV? And are you taking your vacation leave to do this?

If you are using public resources to do this show, I disagree.

To apologize for a past mistake is civilized, I have no objection. But to travel to a totalitarianism regime to make a public kowtow is disgusting.

Richmond MLAs should do their job of improving the well-being of all Richmond people. They shouldn’t be pumping up a particular group of people. After all, communist China doesn’t represent all Chinese in the world.
