I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the store owners in Steveston who participated in the trick-or-treat" event last Saturday afternoon.
This is the first time that my wife and I have accompanied our grandchildren (along with their parents) to this event, and we were overwhelmed by the way in which so many merchants in and around the Moncton Street area took part, many dressing in Halloween outfits and cheerfully handing out treats, much to the delight of the hundreds of small children in attendance.
Having lived in Richmond for over 35 years, and watching its growth, it was refreshing to see that a sense of community still exists, and all of the merchants who took part are deserving of credit and gratitude for having made it such an enjoyable day for children and adults, alike.
