Alice Wong's assurances that our pensions and our future will be safe is political maternalism based on absolutely nothing of any real substantive value.
The Harper Cons, as I prefer to call them, are strictly ideology-based and hide, muzzle or just plain ignore the facts to suit their own very narrow conservative agenda. Case in point, Canada's Parliamentary Budget Officer has long been pushing the Harper Con government to release an internal report on demographic trends in order to shed some degree of evidentiary value to Harper's plans for pension systems. I strongly suspect the Harper Cons are deliberately hiding research results because it does not support their political agenda. This is typical of them.
So I challenge Alice Wong - show us the numbers! Give us the evidence. Put aside all the political garbage we're hearing out of Ottawa and tell us the truth. Prove me wrong.
