The Editor,
There was a senior Richmondite who used to come to the Lansdowne Zellers every day in his scooter to have a meal and, more importantly, I think, socialize with the kind, friendly waitresses there at the diner.
They knew his name, even bought him balloons on his birthday. My mom and I watched this from our booth in the corner and were often greeted with a cheery, "Hi ladies. Nice to see you," ourselves.
Richmond is changing so fast, the diner and Zellers store is closing down, so this is just a short thank you to those folks for their hard work and dedication over the years.
Sometimes, whether you know it or not, yours was the only friendly face in a day and don't ever think your small kindnesses went unnoticed. We'll miss the chats and laughs and dedication to your customers.
