The Editor,

To its credit, the City of Richmond has a number of advisory committees in order to get feedback on a variety of issues.

Richmond Intercultural Advisory (RIAC) is one such committee.

Established more than 10 years ago, RIAC has been doing an excellent job in promoting intercultural harmony in the community.

As an ongoing part of this process, RIAC, in consultation with the city, has devised a brief citizen survey.

It is a very simple multiple choice questionnaire that should take only a few minutes to complete.

The main objective of this survey is to better understand Richmond residents' attitudes towards cultural difference.

It should assist RIAC and the city in a follow up discussion on diversity.

Copies of the survey are available at city hall, various community centers, and a few other places.

The completed survey form can be handed in at these places as well. For any questions or comments in this regard, please contact Alan Hill, City of Richmond cultural diversity co-ordinator at 604-276-4391 or email [email protected].

The deadline to hand in the survey is Sept. 30.
