NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. — RCMP say they've found a woman they suspected had been kidnapped when a gun-wielding man stole the car she was in.

Mounties say the 33-year-old was found safe at a home in North Battleford, northwest of Saskatoon.

Hours earlier, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery and said a man with a gun had approached a car with two women inside.

One woman left the vehicle unharmed, but the other was still inside when the man got in and drove off.

They say the red Pontiac Grand Prix was found a few hours later abandoned in a residential area, and the case was being investigated as a kidnapping.

The suspect is described as having a round-shaped face and was last seen wearing a baggy red sweater and jeans.
