Photo of the day...

Today's feature photo comes from GMR regular Geoff McDonell, who thought perhaps the inspiration for waterskiing came from observing ducks as they landed. He captured a common merganser hen landing on the water at London's Landing pier.

Do you possibly remember the taking the tram?

The B.C. Electric Interurban Tram that travelled between Marpole in Vancouver and Steveston was established in 1913 and eventually shut down in 1958. The Friends of the Richmond Archives posted a photo recently of its dismantling in 1965 at the intersection of No. 3 Road and Granville Avenue.

"The corner of Brighouse Park can be seen on the right and on the left a piece of the Red and White Store is visible. A rail crane can be seen next to the store, near where the original Brighouse Station was located," the Friends posted.
