Fun fact about Richmond...
Do you know how many police officers patrolled Richmond in the early 1940s?
According to the Marpole-Richmond Review, there were four police officers patrolling Richmond in 1941. The Review, however, noted that two were leaving in January and replacements were needed.
One of the officers leaving was Chief Alfie Johnston was moving to a new post in Chemainus. The next week's paper noted the two vacant posts had been filled and Richmond's police force was back to its full complement of four.
