A new poké fast food place opened inside the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) this week.
Hula Poké opened its second Richmond location on May 8 inside YVR's domestic terminal post-security.
Poké is a traditional Hawaiian dish and has become one of Canada’s popular healthy fast foods. It features a fixed or customizable bowl of proteins, vegetables and toppings.
Hula Poké first opened at Vancouver CF Pacific Centre shopping mall in 2017 and now has a total of seven locations across Metro Vancouver including the two in Richmond.
They offer poké bowls specializing in seafood and farm produce, with house-made sauces and homemade coconut water beverages. They also offer options catering to certain dietary needs.
The menu includes Tiki (spicy), Yuzu (traditional), Peruvian (spicy citrus), Koko (spicy Korean) and Crispy Miso (toasted sweet) and coconut green curry poke bowls.
They also offer drinks such as coffee poured over coconut milk and ice and Kombucha.
Hula Poké and YVR are hosting opening celebrations until May 30 with giveaways and sample tastings for travellers, which can be found at the WestJet domestic departures.
