Popular TV show about plane crash to film in busy Vancouver neighbourhood

Some Hollywood stars will film in this vibrant neighbourhood.

A popular TV series is filming scenes in a historic Vancouver neighbourhood on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

Filming for Yellowjackets takes place throughout the day in Chinatown and includes intermittent traffic control in some areas.

A small crew prepped for filming on Monday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and will return to dismantle the set on Wednesday during the same hours.

A resident notification letter from Yellowjackets S3 Productions Inc. says filming commenced in the 200-block of East Georgia Street and the surrounding north and south alleys on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. and will continue until 9 p.m.

From 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. on Wednesday, filming will move to Gore Avenue between 293 E. Georgia St. and 663 Gore Ave. The company says the 600-block of Gore Avenue may appear brighter than normal due to the lighting. Similarly, the crew working and the low hum of the generators may cause after-curfew noise.

The crew is slated to move out of the area around 3 a.m.
