Community event grants available to Richmond groups

Grants are available from the City of Richmond for community events.

Applications are being accepted for grants that allow Richmond community members to organize free, public events.

Organizations eligible for Richmond Community Celebration Grants are Richmond-based non-profits, faith-based groups, Parent Advisory Committees, community associations and student councils

Examples of events that may be eligible for funding include cultural celebrations, community concerts and movies in the park and other outdoor community events.

This grant program offers funding of up to $2,000 to support initiatives that foster collaboration among Richmond residents and community groups, and strengthen community pride and belonging.

Local artists and other community members are encouraged to connect with local, not-for-profit organizations to create and submit an application that capitalizes on the power and potential of the arts to support community-building and promote social connections.

To be eligible, events must take place in Richmond between June 1 and Dec. 31, 2025 and demonstrate alignment with program objectives including creating events that build community in Richmond.

The events must be inclusive, accessible and demonstrate engagement of community members from diverse backgrounds

Furthermore, they must be free and open to the public.

In addition, applicants must show they have capacity to host the event and show a realistic estimate of resources needed and total budget required.
