A Good Samaritan is being commended for returning a valuable engagement ring lost in Richmond.

On April 22, a Good Samaritan found and turned in a $6,200 ring, an act Richmond RCMP describes as "demonstrating the trust and goodwill" of the Richmond community.

The engagement ring, described as white gold with multiple diamonds, was reported missing by the owner after they discovered it had fallen out of their pocket.

Richmond RCMP confirmed the ring's ownership by a unique serial number.

Chief Superintendent Dave Chauhan, officer in charge of Richmond RCMP, said this responsible act shows how the community helps maintain trust and cooperation.

"This incident demonstrates the values we strive to uphold in Richmond," said Chauhan.

"Our community is strengthened by the integrity and goodwill of individuals who look out for one another. We are proud to be part of such a conscientious community."

Richmond RCMP encourages all residents to report lost items and any suspicious activities. The act of this Good Samaritan is a testament to the positive impact each individual can make.
