A Richmond mosque will be among many across B.C. on Saturday to throw open their doors as part of a province-wide “Open Mosque Day.”

On Feb. 16, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Jamea Mosque, at 12300 Blundell Rd., will have tours, including an exhibition of various themes surrounding Islam and Muslims and a number of fun activities, such as Henna tattooing and Hijab-tryouts.

It’s hoped the event will “strengthen the bonds of co-existence within Canada and clear any misconceptions about Islam and Muslims. This initiative welcomes people to connect with their local Muslim communities.”

Interested individuals and groups are requested to visit OpenMosqueBC.ca for more information.
