Chloe Lu from McRoberts secondary will compete in Miss Teenage Canada 2024 in Toronto next month.

A McRoberts secondary student is heading to the national stage after coming on top in a provincial pageant.

Chloe Lu, 16, was crowned Miss Teenage Richmond 2024 at the Miss Teenage British Columbia pageant in April after receiving the highest score out of the 10 B.C. contestants.

The Grade 11 student is set to compete against teenagers across the country for the title of Miss Teenage Canada 2024 in Toronto next month.

Lu, who made her first foray into pageantry this April, said she was drawn to the experience for benefits such as internal growth.

Having been a competitive skater for almost 10 years and a figure skating coach, Lu's passion lies in advocating for mental health and safe learning environments for Canadian athletes.

Her goal is to advocate for inclusivity for athletes, Lu added.
