Annual Steveston herring sale returns to benefit kids with cancer

All proceeds from the sale will go to BC Children's Hospital.

Tickets are selling quick for the annual Steveston herring sale.

The popular annual herring sale to help kids with cancer is returning to Steveston this Saturday, and tickets are going fast.

The 14th annual herring sale, organized by Fishermen Helping Kids with Cancer, will be held at the Steveston Harbour Authority on Trites Road on Jan. 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

One bag of herring, approximately 20 pounds, will cost $20. Tickets are only sold online with specific pick-up time slots.

All proceeds will go to support kids being treated for cancer at BC Children's Hospital, helping make their hospital stay more comfortable with iPads, video game systems and other gifts.

The sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 12740 Trites Rd.
