Renovations at the Thompson Community Centre gym are complete, the City of Richmond announced Tuesday.
The fitness centre got a new coat of paint, new furnishings and improved lighting during the upgrade.
“Thompson Community Association believes strongly in supporting the community and accommodating everyone regardless of age or fitness level”, said Kathy Holt, Fitness Committee chair.
“The goal is to provide a great experience to everyone in our community.”
Money for the renovation came from the association, the city and from an Energy Savings Grant.
The 4,000-square-foot gym is open daily and has an upstairs mezzanine area that includes TRX suspension equipment, free weights, recumbent bikes and mats for stretching.
Spring group classes include weight training for women, kickboxing, yoga and dance.
A one-year membership to City of Richmond community centre gyms costs $307.
