T&T Supermarket’s Richmond locations are fundraising to improve medical imaging at Richmond General Hospital.

The food store says it will match in-store donations by customers up to $70,000. People can make donations at the cashier as they check out at T&T stores on Hollybridge Way, Yaohan Centre or at the newly opened Lansdowne location.

The fundraising drive launched on Friday, and the supermarket said in a news release that this is its largest fundraising effort to date.

“We are excited that T&T Supermarkets is taking a leadership role to help improve local health care in Richmond,” said Natalie Meixner, president and CEO of the Richmond Hospital Foundation.

T&T, which specializes in Asian food, is headquartered in Richmond. Meixner says she’s happy the company is using its deep roots in the community to help the hospital.

The fundraising drive is running until Oct. 28.
